Firefighters rescued the man after his vehicle rolled into the Spicket River on the night of Sunday, May 21, according to Lawrence Fire Chief Brian Moriarty.
Firefighters arrived at the scene on Haverhill Road to find the vehicle lying on its roof in the river. Firefighter Paul King dressed in rescue gear, entered the river, and successfully pulled the man to safety.
The rescued man was "somewhat non-cooperative" and may have been intoxicated, although that has not been confirmed, said Moriarty.
The man was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. His condition is unknown.
The man told officials that two others were in the vehicle with him, but dive teams from Beverly and State Police performed a thorough search and found no indication of other people.
